Did you know? There are 29 different species of bunny rabbits that live around the world. Sometimes the words "bunny," "rabbit," and "hare" are used interchangeably, but hares are actually a different species.
Rabbits are smaller, with shorter legs and ears. Rabbits move by jumping, but hares are runners - thus the famous story of the tortoise and the hare.
Most rabbits are small, but some are enormous! Flemish giant and British giant rabbits can weigh over 15 pounds and are the size of small dogs.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Cartoon Rabbit
1. Begin by drawing the face of your cartoon rabbit outline. Use a series of curved lines to sketch the narrow sides of the head, the tufts of fur, the chubby cheeks, and the chin.
2. Next, begin sketching the ruff of fur on the bunny's chest. Use short curved lines that meet at gentle points. Then, extend a long curved line and double it back upon itself to form the arm. Detail the paw with short lines.
3. Draw the remaining arm. Use a series of overlapping curved lines to outline the arm, which is bent at the elbow. Detail the paw with short lines.
4. Use overlapping curved lines to sketch the bunny's belly and thigh. Then, use curved lines to enclose the rear leg. Detail the paw with short curved lines.
5. Enclose a rounded shape to indicate the remaining foot. Detail the toes with short lines. Then, draw a curved line between the arm and foot to complete the outline of the rabbit's body. Enclose a partial teardrop shape to form the fluffy tail.
6. Next, draw the rabbit's face. Draw two curved lines to form the cheeks. Above them, enclose partial oval shapes. These are the rabbit's eyes. Within each eye, draw two successively smaller ovals and shade between them.
These are the pupils. Shade a small oval above each eye to indicate the eyebrows.
7. Draw a small, inverted triangle with rounded corners to form the bunny's wiggly nose.
8. Draw a wide, rounded "W" below the nose to form the mouth. Enclose a rectangle shape beneath it, and draw a vertical line down its center. These are the prominent teeth. Finally, extend several curved lines from above the mouth to form the whiskers.
9. The last step is to draw the bunny's ears. Use curved lines to outline the ears. Notice that one is floppy and bent, requiring overlapping lines. Detail within each ear using curved "L" shaped lines.
Color your cartoon bunny outline. Rabbits come in many different colors. Some are grey, like the one in our illustration. Wild rabbits are often brown. Domesticated pet bunnies may be white, black, cream, or even spotted.
